Eligible charity and community organisations of any size can now access the award-winning account following removal of the previous £2m turnover limit
The Co-operative Bank has today launched a new £300 switching incentive for eligible charity and community organisations and removed the previous £2m turnover limit on its Charity and Community Account.
The change means eligible organisations of any size can now access the account, helping more charities and community organisations benefit from a banking proposition designed specifically for the sector.
The £300 incentive is available to eligible organisations that open a Charity and Community Account, actively use it and complete a full switch.
Available to registered charities, community interest companies, co-operatives and credit unions, the Charity and Community Account currently has no monthly account fee and no charges for everyday banking transactions.
The Co-operative Bank has been named Best Charity Banking Provider at the Moneyfacts Business Banking Awards for 11 consecutive years, reflecting its long-standing support for charities and community organisations.
Laura Willerton, Head of Commercial Deposits at The Co-operative Bank, said:
"At a time when many charities and community organisations are being asked to do more with less, every pound counts.
"Removing the turnover limit means organisations of any size can now access our Charity and Community Account, while the new £300 incentive puts extra money back where it belongs: funding services, supporting beneficiaries and strengthening communities."

About The Co-operative Bank
The Co-operative Bank p.l.c. provides a full range of banking products and services to retail and SME (Small and Medium Sized Enterprises) customers and is committed to values and ethics in line with the principles of the co-operative movement.
In 1992, The Co-operative Bank took the pioneering step to become the first UK bank to launch a customer-led Ethical Policy, which gives the Bank’s customers a say on the ethical issues that are important to them, and how the Bank could help. These answers form the basis of our Ethical Policy, shaping the Bank’s ethical commitments, the way in which it will use customer’s money and the issues it will campaign for. Since 1992, the Ethical Policy remains unique in the UK and has been updated six times in consultation with the Bank’s customers, to reflect their changing priorities. Since 2016, the Bank has been partnered with Centrepoint and are their longest standing corporate partner.
In January 2025, The Co-operative Bank joined Coventry Building Society Group - a top 10 lender and the 2nd biggest building society in the UK.
