Text guide: how to make a payment to your credit card

In this step-by-step guide, we’ll explain how you can use online banking to easily make a payment to your credit card.

Before you begin

You’ll need to have to hand:

  • The amount you wish to pay.
  • The date you wish to make the payment.

To begin, choose which account you want the standing order to come from

  1. Log in to online banking using your login details
  2. Select Pay and transfer from the menu on the left
  3. Select Make a payment to your credit card

Then, decide how much of your credit card balance you wish to pay and when

  1. Choose the account you want to pay from under From
  2. Choose the credit card you want to transfer to under To
  3. Select whether you want to pay the minimum amount, the full amount or another amount (and enter the other amount if so)
  4. If you want to make the payment later, select the Pay at a later date tick box and select the date you’d like to make the payment
  5. Click Continue

Next, confirm the details of the payment

  1. You’ll then be taken to the Confirm details page. Here, you can check that you’ve entered the correct information
  2. Click Confirm and pay. If successful, you’ll see a screen stating Payment request sent

Please note, it can take up to 2 business days for the money to reach your account.
